If you’re experiencing buffering/freezing across multiple channels, please check/try the following:

1. Internet speed: Please ensure that your internet connection (Wifi or Ethernet) is strong and stable and can achieve a download speed of at least 10 Mbps. If you currently have speeds lower than a 10 megabytes per second, you may experience some streaming instability. Take an Internet Speed Test

Please also be aware that the internet has a rush hour! According to the FCC, internet usage peaks from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. More people are actively using the internet during this time which can put a major strain on an internet service providers (ISPs) network, which in turn trickles down to you in the form of slower overall speeds.

2. Bandwidth: Disconnect any devices that you’re not currently using to free up more bandwidth on your network. If you have other smart TVs, computers, tablets, or other devices connected to your network, they could be using up bandwidth and cause stream instability.

3. VPNs or ad blockers: If you use these services, try disconnecting them and restart your device.

4. Delete your browser cache and temporary files/try an incognito window: If you’re on a laptop and streaming through your web browser, clearing the cache and temporary files can clean up and may help speed things up. In Google Chrome, you can find this option under Settings > Privacy and security. Switching to “Private” or “Incognito” mode can also prevent your browser from saving cookies or cached files that can cause playback delays.

5. Restart your device: Turn your device off for at least 10 seconds and turn it back on.

6. Restart your modem/router: Unplug your modem/router from the power outlet for at least 10 seconds, plug it back in, wait for the system to reconnect, and try again.

7. Switch your router to 5 GHz: If your modem/router is using 2.4 GHz frequency instead of 5 GHz, the signal will travel farther but it will be slower, which could cause buffering. Keep your router close to your main streaming devices and use 5 GHz for the best experience. If you cannot move your router close to your device, consider purchasing a Wi-Fi extender to strengthen your connection.

8. Reinstall the tugo TV app: Uninstall and then reinstall the app on your device.

9. Upgrade your internet service/modem/router: Some ISPs deliver content in large data bursts that may not be suitable for live content streaming. If your router is more than a couple years old, it’s a good idea to check its specs and make sure it can support your internet speed. Check with your internet service provider that your plan and equipment supports streaming services and the number of devices in your home.
